We warmly welcome seminarian David Schmidt to our grouping for his pastoral year. He will be ministering in our four parishes in many and varied ways as part of his ongoing preparation for priestly ordination.
David was born on June 7, 1991. He is the son of Kimberly and David Schmidt, Sr. David has three brothers, Ryan, Vincent and Dominic, and one sister, Nicole.
Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen Parish in Butler is David’s home parish. He attended Butler Catholic Elementary School before graduating from Butler Area High School in 2009. David graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. In 2014, he received a Masters in Sports Management from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
David’s most recent employment was the Director of Young Adult Ministry at Saint Fidelis Parish.
In Fall 2015, David was accepted into the priestly formation program, and completed two years of pre-theology studies at Saint Paul Seminary and Duquesne University in May 2017.
David was assigned to Theological College and The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC to begin theological studies in Fall 2017, and just finished his second year. He can be contacted by leaving a message at any of our Parish Offices or at dcschmidt@diopitt.org.
